The Karakoram Range in Pakistan is home to some of the highest and most challenging peaks in the world, including the 8000 meters peaks. The 8000 meters peaks are the fourteen mountains in the world that are over 8,000 meters (26,247 ft) in height above sea level. In Pakistan, four of the world's
8000 meters peaks are located in the Karakoram Range. These peaks are: K2 (8,611 meters / 28,251 ft) - K2 is the second highest peak in the world, after Mount Everest. It is located on the border between Pakistan and China. Broad Peak (8,051 meters / 26,414 ft) - Broad Peak is located on the border between Pakistan and China, about 8 kilometers (5 miles) from K2. Gasherbrum I (8,080 meters / 26,510 ft) - Gasherbrum I is located on the border between Pakistan and China, near K2. Gasherbrum II (8,035 meters / 26,362 ft) - Gasherbrum II is located on the border between Pakistan and China, near Gasherbrum I. These peaks are considered to be among the most challenging and dangerous climbs in the world, due to their extreme altitude, difficult terrain, and unpredictable weather conditions. Climbing these peaks requires extensive training, experience, and specialized equipment, and is not recommended for inexperienced climbers.
