About Broad Peak – 8,047 meters (26,401 ft)

Broad Peak is the 12th highest mountain in the world, located in the Karakoram mountain range on the border of Pakistan and China. It has an elevation of 8,047 meters (26,401 ft) and is part of the greater Himalayan mountain system. Broad Peak is also known as K3, and it is one of the most challenging peaks for mountaineers to climb due to its steep ascent and harsh weather conditions. Broad Peak was first climbed in 1957 by an Austrian expedition led by Marcus Schmuck and Fritz Wintersteller. Since then, many expeditions have attempted to climb the peak, but only a small percentage have been successful. The most common route to the summit is the West Ridge, which starts from the col between Broad Peak and K2, the second-highest mountain in the world.
